Welcome.

Hello and welcome. I’m Naomi, a clinical sexologist providing sex and relationships education and therapy online to people all around the world. I have been working in the wonderfully interesting field of human sexuality since 2004. Now, some 18 years later I still love my job as much as I did when I first started.

I was initially drawn to this work after identifying that Australian Sexual Health Education and Relationship curriculum was inadequate and missing valuable tools and information that would equip people with what they really needed to flourish in this area. This soon sparked my strong passion and an unwavering belief in the right of all people (who want to) be able to access accurate and inclusive information that would support them to experience their sexuality and relationships in the most healthy and authentic way possible.

What is a Sexologist?

A sexologist is someone who has extensively studied, at a University level, the field of human sexuality in all its aspects. There are presently three fields of professional practice in sexology: research, sexual education and clinical practice. A sexologist can be adept at all three, or specialise in at least two of these areas.

Hi Naomi,

Thanks again for the session today – we have both found it really helpful and had no idea about spontaneity versus responsive arousal. That has definitely helped us to understand each other better.

We will put the recommendations in motion and if we still find nothing is helping we will definitely be in touch.

Thanks again, we appreciate it 🙂

Hi Naomi,

Corrine and I want to thank you for the help and guidance you gave us back in October. Your reassurance that we are normal and not at all out of the ordinary really helped us to settle. Then, as you suggested, we each got our copies of Come As You Are. I’m still living in Victoria and Corrine in NSW so reading, absorbing and applying Emily’s wisdom and practical advice has been a halting process. But we have just this week achieved our goal of Corinne being able to have an orgasm with me present. It has been truly lovely for both of us. We can enjoy that blissful “after time” in each other’s arms and we are very happy.

I’ll be moving NSW to be with Corinne in the next couple of months and we are very excited about being together permanently.

Thanks again Naomi. We appreciate your help.

Hello Naomi,

I really wanted to thank you for your knowledge during our session a few weeks ago, relating to myself and my now ex husband (name removed). I came away with such a good understanding of where things are at and clarity. Thank you for working through this all and helping us to separate and remain on good terms and co parent. He told me he felt better after it also. We appreciated all your sessions previously as we tried to find a way through.

Kind Regards

Anonymous.

Hi Naomi,

Thanks for today. I felt so affirmed. I don’t think I have ever had a therapist who brought up all of what you did in just one session – even after I’ve seen them for many years. My fiancée (name retracted) told me he really appreciated the chance to talk about race and gender stereotypes, and he admitted he felt a bit embarrassed he had never thought about how my gender and being black woman impacts my life in many ways, including sometimes showing up during our sexual dynamic.

Thank you for helping us to talk about this.

Hi Naomi,

I just wanted to email you my thoughts. I hope that it’s ok? I had heard you on Triple J a few times and had wanted to book in aged ago, I’m glad I finally did. After our session last night, I just wanted to say you were just like you are on the radio. You made me feel so comfortable. I loved that you laughed in session and even apologised for butting in. I like that you told me straight up that you have ADHD and that means you can talk quite fast and encouraged me to tell you to slow down if I ever needed to. As someone who has been to a lot of therapists in the past, I really liked how you explained how you work and your approach at the beginning of session. During the session I heard you talk about sex in ways I had never thought about.  Your knowledge and homework suggestions really have helped ease my anxiety. Once my finances are better, I want to come and see you again!

Thanks

Hey Naomi,

Both Jackson and I loved our session. We already noticed such an improvement when we are having sex, but it’s even helped the relationship overall. Thanks for following up and sending those links. We already told a bunch of our friends about you and told them bonus is you have your cute puppies in the background 🙂

Thank you

Kobe

Hi Naomi,

I would like to provide you with some feedback. I have wanted to do this for a long time but I don’t feel I can do this on google reviews. I know that google reviews are helpful I just cannot do it without fear for my life. However, I am happy for you to share this in other spaces you please, as long as you please don’t use my name or where I live.

I have been working with Naomi for nearly 5 years now. I am a 44-year-old trans woman who found Naomi just before my first surgery. Naomi has been a constant support and wealth of knowledge during some really tough times. Her wealth of knowledge, professionalism and expertise is outstanding. As well as working through a lot of my own internalised transphobia she helped me uncover some homophobia I was carrying, and I feel so much more positive about my sexuality now. Unfortunately, I have had many awful experiences in health service and on more than one occasion Naomi has gone out of her way and even helped write complaints on a few occasions. It is very hard to find true trans friendly workers and I wish everyone in the trans community had access to sessions with Naomi.

Thank you so much.

Proud Trans Woman (Aged 43)

Hi Naomi,

Thanks for the months of sessions. Some of them were very hard. The moment I met you your warmth helped me not feel like I was talking to a stranger. I know I said it in session, but I can’t really put into words how much I’ve appreciated the way you helped me let go of all that shame and anxiety around pretty much anything to do with sex. My husband and even a friend commented on how much less uptight I am. I hope that it means I won’t pass this onto my girls, and they will have a better outlook than I did.

Thank You

Hi Naomi,

Guess what? Even though I really didn’t want to face it at the time our sessions together changed my life.

My partner, (name retracted), and I have since separated which is definitely for the better and it turns out that you were right in saying that my libido issues could possibly be due to me not feeling safe in the relationship. I am now in a new relationship and feeling loved, safe and sexual again which is amazing 😊

Just thought you’d like to know.

Take care and say hi to your puppies for me!

Good Morning Naomi,

Just a brief note to thank you for your attention a few days ago.  You’re very committed to the work you do, and also very insightful. Have a good Christmas Break, and I’ll book a follow-up session in the new year.

Cheers
